Contentment

Contented
Feeling or showing satisfaction with one's possessions, status, or situation

Contentment is learned.

"... for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content."

Phil 4:11

"But godliness with contentment is great gain."

1 Tim 6:6

Contentment:

should not be confused with laziness or apathy.

is not a lack of desire.

is not a lack of ambition.

    puts the soul at rest.

    alleviates stress.

A contented person:

is willing to start over a thousand times to get it right

is not discouraged with negative results.

enjoys the present without forgetting the past or forfeiting the future.

    is never weary with "well-doing."

Discontentment is a breeding ground for:

jealousy

bitterness

covetousness

stress

debt

poverty
