"Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." Luke 6:38 |
"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." Winston Churchill |

Giving Since God has spoken everything into being, He has to sacrifice himself to give. Giving is an attribute of God that demands sacrifice. Sacrifice in giving means my loss is another’s gain. Since we are sinners by nature, we are inclined to be selfish, not sacrificial.
|
Giving must be taught as well as learned. The only part of giving we control is the "letting go." If we expect a return, we have not truly given. If we expect a return, it becomes an investment, not a gift. We can’t be truly thankful without a proper attitude towards giving. Our expectations of others giving usually exceed the standards of our own. The thing we find the hardest to give is usually the greatest gift. |
