Servants

SERVANT

One that performs duties about the person or home of a master.

"Only one life, twill soon be past. Only what’s done for Christ will last!"

"He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose"

Jim Elliot

"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."

Phil 2:5-8

Service

The occupation or function of serving.

A slave and a servant both serve, but:

a slave obeys his master’s orders, a servant seeks to fulfill his master’s desires.

A slave would desire to escape from labors, a servant would seek to engage in labors.

Slaves view labor as drudgery, servants view labor as delight.

A slave hates the master, while a servant loves the master.

Slaves do the minimum duty, servants go above and beyond duty.
