Discipline

Discipline

Training that corrects, molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character.

"No steam or gas drives anything until it is confined. No life ever grows great until it is focused, dedicated, disciplined."

“So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.”

Luke 14:33

Respect for God’s work would begin with a proper attitude towards church, and good behavior in church.

Disciple

A convinced adherent of a philosophy or individual.

  • Education is a discipline

  • Without discipline education has no value.

  • Who or where we receive our education will largely determine whose disciple we become.

  • A teacher has the opportunity to mold the next generation.

  • Discipline with a purpose makes disciples.

The ultimate goal of a Sunday School teacher is to produce disciples.

Areas of discipline:

Regard for God’s Word.

Respect for God’s work.

Response to God’s will.

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;”

John 8:31

"I will not put frogs in the baptistry! I will not put..."

“By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”

John 13:35
