Vol. 29 |
Environment | |
Environment 1. The circumstances, objects, or conditions by which one is surrounded 2. The aggregate of social and cultural conditions that influence the life of an individual or community |
We teach children from diverse environments, so we need to provide a stable Godly environment. |
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and
when he is old, he will not depart from it."
Prov. 22:6 |
"No change of
circumstances can repair a defect of character." Emerson |
| A child’s environment determines the attitudes that shape his character. |
| A child’s character produces the attitudes that will shape his environment. |
| We must strive to create environments that shape good character. |
Some environments are uncontrollable We must seek the help of God, who controls all. |
"I really admire your direct preaching style. How long will it be before those people in the front row regain consciousness?"
God alone can best shape the tender hearts of children. He alone knows the heart. |
By instilling the fear of God in children, we build a mold that cannot be easily broken, in spite of circumstances. |
We must show some children an alternative to
the depraved environment that surrounds them. They must be encouraged, and instructed how to rise above it. |
