WORK Activity in which one exerts strength or faculties to do or perform something. |
"When I said you could call any time, I wasn’t thinking about answering Bible Trivia questions at 2:00 AM..."
"I can do all things through Christ ..." Phil. 2:13 |
"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." 1 Cor 15:58 |

The Lord’s work requires more zeal, because the results are eternal. We must always seek to go beyond mortal limits, because we can with Christ’s strength. Always abounding - Constant excess. We are good at bringing the secular into the sacred. We are reluctant in bringing the sacred into the secular. When our desire to please the Lord exceeds our fear of man, then the work of the Lord spills over into everything we do. - Sacred & Secular "...for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things:..." Mt. 12:34,35 |
It is false
thinking to think that the Lord’s work
ends at noon on Sunday.
Our reasons for not continuing the Lord’s work after church on Sunday are usually selfish.
If your faith isn’t working 24/7, then it’s not faith, it’s religion. We should view all of our activities as opportunities for the work of the Lord. When we govern our labor by the virtues of others, the work of the Lord ceases to abound. |
