Honor

Honour

Respect and esteem shown to another.

Honour not given where due is shameful.

"Render therefore to all their dues: ... honour to whom honour." -Rom 13:7

Honour given to the foolish is shameful.

"As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool." -Prov 26:1

"The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility."

- Prov 15:3

Honour is given.

Respect is earned.

Honouring the faithful is a rarity in today’s world.

Disrespectful fools tend to get attention, and they’re honoured by that.

Those to be Honored

"...Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." -Matt. 22:37

"Honour thy father and thy mother: ..." -Exo. 20:12

"Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God." -Rom. 13:1

"Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;" -Rom. 12:10

"Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you." -Heb. 13:17

"Show me the man you honor, and I will know what kind of man you are."

- Thomas Carlyle
