Honour
Respect and esteem shown to another. |
Honour not given where due is shameful. "Render therefore to all their dues: ... honour to whom honour." -Rom 13:7 |
Honour given to the foolish is shameful. "As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool." -Prov 26:1 |
"The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before
honour is humility."
- Prov 15:3 |
|
Honour is given. Respect is earned. Honouring the faithful is a rarity in today’s world. Disrespectful fools tend to get attention, and they’re honoured by that. |
Those to be Honored "...Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." -Matt. 22:37 "Honour thy father and thy mother: ..." -Exo. 20:12 "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God." -Rom. 13:1 "Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;" -Rom. 12:10 "Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you." -Heb. 13:17 |
